We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable Truss & Building Component Designer to join our growing design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the construction and building materials industry. Training is available for candidates with the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a team-focused environment. While prior experience with truss and component design is preferred, we are willing to train someone with strong construction knowledge, computer skills, and a positive attitude.
Candidates with experience in construction, carpentry, drafting, CAD software, or building materials are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and layout of roof trusses, wall panels, and floor joist systems
- Learn and utilize industry-specific design and estimating software
- Review blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications
- Collaborate with sales staff, contractors, and internal team members
- Maintain accurate project documentation and design files
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications and building standards
- Support project coordination and production planning
- Continue developing technical design and construction knowledge
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Desire to learn, grow, and build a long-term career
- Basic computer skills required
- CAD design experience preferred
- Experience with MiTek Structure software is preferred.
- General construction knowledge preferred
- Experience with roof truss, wall panel, or floor joist design/layout is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
