Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent - Commercial to oversee and manage commercial construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing a variety of projects, including tenant improvements and ground-up construction, with a proven ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and ensure project success. This role requires in-person presence on-site a minimum of 40 hours per week, with reliable transportation and a clean driving record. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining safety standards, adhering to project schedules, and delivering high-quality results in a dynamic construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations on commercial construction sites, ensuring work progresses according to plans and schedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide construction activities accurately.
- Coordinate with various commercial subcontractors, managing their work to ensure timely and quality completion of project phases.
- Enforce safety protocols and manage safety programs to maintain a secure work environment for all personnel.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and team members.
- Manage on-site personnel, including supervising subcontractors and labor teams, ensuring adherence to project standards.
- Ensure compliance with all local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies throughout the construction process.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to project progress, safety reports, change orders, and other relevant records.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience within the commercial sector.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong background in commercial construction projects ranging from tenant improvements to ground-up builds.
- Knowledge of construction safety management practices and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent scheduling skills with the ability to develop realistic timelines and adapt to changing project needs.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with subcontractors, clients, and team members.
- Ability to work in-person at the job site for at least 40 hours per week.
- Reliable transportation with a clean driving record is required for site visits and coordination purposes.
