This position starts in August of 2026 for the 26-27 academic year.
As a NC Education Corps Member, you will work part-time (15-25 hours/week), in-person DURING THE SCHOOL DAY in Lincoln County Schools.
To follow the high impact tutoring model, you will work at least 3 days a week, in-person with 1-3 students for 30 minutes at a time. This work will support K-5 students with their foundational literacy skills. Tutors will focus on the five pillars of reading: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
You will become a part-time employee of Lincoln County Schools, and as such will be paid hourly.
A background in education is not required, because you will be supported by a NCEC learning coach who will provide training, professional development, and support throughout the school year. You will become an employee of Lincoln County Schools and as such will be paid hourly.
All tutors will participate in required professional learning during the school year. A paid initial training will be required upon employment start date with the opportunity to opt into monthly professional development. Additionally, your NCEC Learning Coach will offer the opportunity for coaching calls and school-based site visits.
