We're looking for a passionate, energetic, and organized Program Director to lead one of our school-age programs in Baltimore County. Program Hours
Before School: Approximately 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
After School: Approximately 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Additional paid administrative/director hours are scheduled throughout the week.
What You'll Do
As the Program Director, you'll:
- Lead and support a team of before and after school staff.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children.
- Plan and implement fun, age-appropriate activities.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, school personnel, and staff.
- Ensure compliance with MSDE Office of Child Care licensing regulations.
- Maintain program records, supervise daily operations, and promote a positive team culture.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Office of Child Care qualifications for School Age Program Directors.
Qualified applicants must have:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 400 hours of experience working with school-age children in a licensed child care program or formal recreation setting
- Completion of the 90-hour Preschool Child Growth and Development and School Age Curriculum training (or equivalent), or hold a valid teaching certificate
Don't have all of the required MSDE training? Qualified candidates may be eligible for assistance with the cost of required training courses.
Additional Requirements
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Medication Administration certification through MSDE
- Completion of all required MSDE trainings, including Basic Health & Safety, COVID-related requirements (if applicable), ADA training, and Communication training (or qualifying college coursework)
- Completion of New Director Training within six months of hire
- Maintain all annual training requirements established by MSDE
