About the Role:
As our Family Liaison Coordinator/Site Director, you will play a key role in supporting all aspects of The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center (TBFECC) and the Universal Prekindergarten program in accordance with YWCA Princeton policies and NJ Department of Children and Families’ (NJDFC) Office of Licensing (OOL), Grow NJ Kids, state and local departments of health, and federal and local regulations. You will collaborate with dedicated colleagues and community members who share your commitment to advancing equity and inclusion.
What You will Do:
Here’s how you will contribute to this role:
1. Family Engagement & Support- 40%

Build and maintain trusting relationships with families enrolled in the Universal Prekindergarten program.
- Conduct outreach to support enrollment, orientation, and ongoing participation.

Organize family engagement events, workshops, and informational sessions.
-
Provide culturally responsive communication, including support for multilingual families.

Support children in school and home settings, including accessing aid from a wide range of agencies, and providing regular on-going assistance to support inclusion. Advocate for families of children with additional needs.

Communicate with Universal Prekindergarten families on a routine, consistent basis.
- Conduct 3 home visits for each Universal Pre-Kindergarten student.

Coordinate 2-3 parent/family group meetings per school year.
- Organize 2-3 health & safety group meetings per school year

Administer and carry out appropriate follow-up on family surveys.

Assist families in understanding program expectations, child development, and serve as the primary liaison between families/program staff.

Facilitate communication regarding student progress, attendance, and program updates.
2. Site Director – Licensing & Compliance (The Henry Pannell Learning Center) – 40%

Serve as the designated on-site Site Director in accordance with requirements of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families Office of Licensing (OOL) at the Henry Pannell Learning Center.

Implement and monitor daily program operations to ensure compliance with all applicable OOL licensing regulations.

Act as the on-site point of contact for OOL inspectors, including coordinating site visits and providing required documentation.

Maintain and oversee required records, including children’s files, attendance, health documentation, and incident reports.

Ensure all required postings, parent notifications, and policies are current and visible.

Monitor compliance with health, safety, supervision, and sign-in/sign-out procedures.

Coordinate with teaching staff to maintain required staff-to-child ratios and classroom compliance.

Maintain an all-inclusive knowledge of The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center (TBFECC), Universal Prekindergarten program.

Support TBFECC, Universal Pre-Kindergarten program, and other programs as needed, including subbing and performing drills.
- Complete 20 hours of continuing education annually by June 30.

Coordinate staff in classrooms to meet child/staff ratios required by the Office of Licensing
3. Data and Reporting (10%)
- Create and maintain documents and spreadsheets supporting TBFECC and Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program, including fee/reduced lunch applications and update systems (PowerSchool) accordingly.

Maintain accurate records of family engagement, outreach, and services provided.

Monitor and receive visitors at the front entrance of The Henry Pannell Learning Center.
4. Organizational learning and development (10%)

Engage in organization-wide training, attend weekly team meetings, participate in all-staff meetings and institution-wide retreats, and develop both professional and personal commitments related to the YWCA -Princeton mission.
What You Bring:
We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of the following:
Required:

Bachelor of Science in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.

Experience working with young children and families in educational or community- based settings.
-
Ability to communicate in Spanish both orally & in written documentation preferred.
-
Experience with childcare licensing, compliance, or program administration preferred.
-
Must meet qualifications required for a Site Director/Director Designee under OOL regulations.

Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact professionally with school administrators, parents, children, volunteers and YWCA staff and potential participants.

Ability to deal with stressful situations in a positive and proactive manner.

Computer experience, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet experience, essential, Excel and technology adaptability.

Must be dependable, able to work independently, multitask, meet deadlines, have strong problem-solving skills and must be a team player.

Excellent communication skills in writing and verbal.
-
Must have strong administrative and supervisory skills.
-
Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred First Aid and CPR certified, but can be obtained 90 days after hire.

Excellent customer service with a neat and professional appearance; friendliness and problem-solving.

Compensation range: $40,000 – 45,000 commensurate with experience.
