Hotel Night Auditor / Overnight Guest ServicesJob Description
We are seeking a dependable, professional, and guest-focused Night Auditor to join our hotel team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional service to our overnight guests while ensuring the hotel’s daily financial and operational processes are completed accurately.
Because the Night Auditor works during the overnight hours with limited supervision, reliability, good judgment, and strong critical-thinking skills are essential for this position. The ideal candidate is someone who can remain calm under pressure, solve problems independently, communicate professionally, and confidently handle unexpected situations.
Previous hotel or front desk experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, dependability, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to all guests
- Perform guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently
- Manage reservations, room assignments, extensions, cancellations, and guest requests
- Answer incoming telephone calls and assist guests with questions about the hotel and surrounding area
- Verify guest information, payment methods, and required documentation
- Respond to guest concerns and complaints professionally and work toward an appropriate resolution
- Use good judgment and critical-thinking skills to resolve issues that may arise during overnight hours
- Monitor hotel activity and help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment
- Complete the hotel's nightly audit process and verify the accuracy of daily transactions
- Review reports, payments, postings, room charges, and account balances for accuracy
- Identify discrepancies and follow established procedures to correct or report them
- Prepare required nightly and morning reports
- Communicate important information, unresolved concerns, and overnight activity to management and the incoming shift
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments when necessary
- Maintain an organized and professional front desk and lobby environment
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, cash-handling standards, and guest privacy requirements
- Complete additional overnight duties and assigned tasks as needed

Experience
Previous experience as a Hotel Night Auditor, Front Desk Agent, Guest Service Representative, or in another customer-service position is preferred but not required.
Hotel experience is a plus, but character, dependability, professionalism, and the ability to take care of our guests are equally important. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
