We are seeking a qualified and compassionate mental health professional to join our growing practice. You may work with children suffering from a wide range of disorders, e.g. ADHD, anxiety, depression, and autism, to children seeking to overcome substance abuse issues, or trauma.
The successful candidate must hold an active license in the State of Florida as a LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW. You must have the knowledge and skills to provide quality care to our patients and their families. You will need to be well-versed in the most recent research on child and adolescent therapies and mental health disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments to diagnose mental health related disorders, including conducting psychological assessments and/or tests as appropriate.
- Develop an individualized treatment plan for each child.
- Provide counselling/therapy sessions for pediatric patients.
- Educate family members on what they can do for their child or how to respond to certain behaviors.
- Recommend rehabilitation or intervention programs to overcome addiction issues.
- Collaborate with other providers to ensure continuity of care and treatment for each patient.
- Provide complete documentation and records of assessments and treatments according to in-house policies.
Requirements & Education:
- Master’s degree in social work or equivalent master’s degree in a recognized mental health field.
- Must be a current Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida in good standing. Must possess a current State of Florida License, per F.S. 491 as an LMHC, LMFT or LCSW
- Several years’ practical experience working with children in a clinical setting is strongly desired.
- Experience diagnosing and treating developmental and behavioral issues in children/adolescents.
- Must be approachable and empathic towards children and their caregivers.
- Must be knowledgeable of different therapeutic methods and be able to switch between different approaches to meet each child’s needs.
- Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate with children of different ages and from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal regulations as determined by relevant regulatory bodies and the law.
- Willingness to attend team meetings, as well as seminars on topics relevant to our client base.
