We are a welding and fabrication company looking for an experienced Welding and Fabrication operations manager to oversee daily operations, coordinate employees, manage active projects, and help ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, combined with proven experience managing people, scheduling work, coordinating projects, and keeping operations organized.
This position requires someone who understands the trade, can communicate effectively with welders and customers, and can take ownership of keeping the company running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of welding and fabrication projects
- Manage shop and field employees, including assigning daily tasks and priorities
- Create and maintain employee schedules based on workload and deadlines
- Review active jobs and track progress from start to completion
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and job requirements
- Communicate job expectations clearly with welders, fabricators, helpers, and field crews
- Identify scheduling issues, delays, and production problems before they impact deadlines
- Review drawings, work orders, and project requirements
- Assist with estimating labor needs and job timelines
- Track job costs, labor hours, and productivity
- Maintain accurate records using QuickBooks Online
- Assist with purchasing, inventory tracking, and vendor coordination
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide job updates when needed
- Help develop processes to improve efficiency, organization, and accountability
Qualifications
- Experience working in a welding shop, fabrication facility, industrial environment, or construction setting
- Previous experience supervising employees or leading crews
- Strong understanding of welding processes, fabrication methods, and job workflow
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and plans
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Experience scheduling employees and managing multiple jobs at once
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Strong computer skills
- Professional, dependable, and respectful leadership style
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous welding supervisor, foreman, shop manager, or production manager experience
- Experience managing field crews
- Experience with structural steel, pipe fabrication, industrial fabrication, or commercial projects
- Experience with job costing and production tracking
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
