Duties
- Conduct patient intake by gathering comprehensive medical histories in both English and Spanish, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, assisting with positioning, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including phlebotomy (blood draws).
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by documenting patient information accurately, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support medical office management through scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
- Facilitate communication with Spanish-speaking patients to improve understanding of treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within outpatient settings.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential for effective patient communication.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (Electronic Medical Records) management and ICD coding for accurate documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical records management.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations; previous clinic or outpatient experience preferred.
