Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development.
- Lead classroom activities that support child development milestones, including toddler care and preschool education.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong home-school connections.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of classroom management and educational quality.
- Ensure compliance with all mandated reporting laws and health & safety regulations, including first aid and CPR certification requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, early intervention strategies, and assessments such as standardized testing when applicable.
- Maintain a clean classroom environment daily.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or toddler care environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education, math concepts, and social-emotional learning.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively while maintaining a warm, supportive atmosphere.
- Prior experience teaching in private schools or similar educational settings is preferred but not required.
