Job Title: Recycling Center Attendant
Reports to: Recycling Center Lead
Primary Schedule:
Tuesdays 6:45a-3:15p
Thursdays 10:45a-7:15p
Saturdays 7:45a-12:15p
Job Summary:
The Recycling Center Attendant will be responsible for ensuring that all community members that visit the OCSWA center have their materials prepared and sorted such that they can be accepted, communicating all pertinent information to the general public regarding recycling & proper waste disposal rules, upcoming events, and answering inquiries in such a way that upholds the OCSWA mission statement.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct all community traffic through the facility
- Ensure that only accepted materials are being collected, and that they are being sorted in the correct repository
- Educate community members on what they can do with items we cannot accept.
- Share any upcoming events or initiatives sponsored and/or hosted by OCSWA with community members
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
- Provide support at onsite and offsite OCSWA and affiliate events
- Assist community members with the unloading of their recyclable materials
- Maintain all material rolloffs in such a way that safely maximizes allotted space and ensures integrity of the recycling program
- Maintains accurate records
- Work independently with minimal supervision and complete work in a timely manner
- Use sound judgment in applying knowledge and skills in all types of situations
- Other duties as directed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds at a time
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Ability to perform duties during frequent and extended periods of outside work, subject to all weather conditions and extremes
- Ability to work with youth volunteers
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record (preferred)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.50 - $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
