Heavy Equipment Operator

Greenworks Solutions is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for safely unloading customer scrap and recycling materials, loading outbound trucks, moving and organizing material throughout the facility, and helping keep daily yard operations running efficiently.
The ideal candidate has experience operating excavators, forklifts and other heavy equipment and understands the importance of safe, efficient material handling.
What You’ll Do
- Safely unload customer scrap and recycling materials from trucks, trailers, and containers
- Operate Excavators , material handlers ,forklifts and other heavy equipment to move and stage materials
- Safely load trucks and trailers with scrap and recycling materials
- Sort, separate, and organize scrap and recycling materials
- Inspect equipment before use and report maintenance or safety issues
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Communicate with customers, drivers, and team members during loading and unloading operations
- Assist with other yard and recycling duties as needed
You’ll Be Successful in This Role If You
- Have experience operating excavators, forklifts and/or heavy equipment
- Are safety-conscious and understand the importance of proper equipment operation
- Are dependable, hardworking, and willing to stay busy
- Can work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Can work independently while also being part of a team
- Communicate well with customers, drivers, and coworkers
- Take pride in keeping the yard clean and organized
- Are willing to learn the recycling and scrap industry
Even Better If You Have
- Previous experience in scrap metal, recycling, waste management, or material handling
- Forklift certification and experience
- Experience operating loaders, skid steers, excavators, or other heavy equipment
- Experience loading and unloading tractor-trailers
- Experience safely loading heavy or irregularly shaped materials
- Knowledge of scrap metal and recycling materials
- Experience working in a recycling yard, warehouse, or industrial facility
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills
