Responsibilities
To serve as a "Float and Triage" Medical Assistant including to healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Prepare patient charts by getting medical records from rereferring physicians. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout visits. Support clinical procedures and assisting with minor surgical procedures in an inpatient settings. Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, ICD coding, and treatment plans clearly and accurately. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean clinical environment adhering to safety standards. Coordinate appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and patient reminders to optimize clinic flow and reduce wait times.
Skills
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support protocols essential for patient care. Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and billing purposes. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
