Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, independent Salesforce CRM Project Manager to lead the coordination and successful implementation of a full Salesforce.com CRM transition from the Foundation’s current instance to the Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud edition. In addition to core project management duties, this independent contractor will ensure that CRM data architecture aligns cleanly with the organization's corporate partnership pipelines, marketing activities, and business development tracking.
As a 1099 contractor, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, flexibility, and accountability. You will serve as the central point of project leadership—collaborating with an independent third-party implementation consultant—while reporting project milestones directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce CRM Transition Project Management
- Lead end-to-end project management of the Salesforce CRM transition, including discovery, requirements gathering, and the management of solution design, configuration, data migration, testing, training, and go-live.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan outlining clear milestones, timelines, dependencies, and risks to ensure the implementation target of April 1, 2027 is met.
- Collaborating closely with department leads (Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance) to map business needs, prioritize system features, and drive consensus on CRM requirements.
Partner with an independent third-party consultant to execute technical deliverables and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Track project progress, manage scope, monitor project budget timelines, and provide regular milestone status reports to leadership.
Identify and mitigate risks, resolve blockers, and escalate project issues appropriately.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and decision-making sessions.
Partnership & Business Development Support
. Support partnership activation and renewal processes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of partnership proposals, including creating and updating proposal decks that align with data and business objectives.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of partnership recaps, including creating and updating recap decks that align with data and partnership objectives.
Work with internal teams to ensure proposal content is accurate, professional, and effectively positions partnership opportunities.
Marketing & Communications Integration
- Create and update website content for review and approval, collaborating directly with the supervisor, Marketing, and Communications teams.
Ensure website content is consistent with overall brand messaging and supports the organization’s goals (e.g., highlighting new capabilities, partner success stories, etc.)
- Incorporate CRM-driven insights into website content where relevant.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional CRM implementations or migrations with firm deadlines (Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud experience highly preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data processes into professional presentations and documentation.
Strong project management expertise, including risk mitigation, scope management, and stakeholder alignment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a results-oriented focus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with corporate partnership pipelines, fundraising data, or nonprofit change management frameworks.
Proficiency in creating professional presentations (PowerPoint, Google Slides, or similar) to communicate project data.
Advanced proficiency with project management tools and data analysis methods (including Microsoft Excel).
Contract Details
- Independent Status: This is a fully independent 1099 contractor position. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, tools, and workspace.
Expected Commitment: 25–40 hours per week depending on the project phase. Schedule is highly flexible and entirely results-oriented.
