Security System Technician
Summary/Objective
The Security System Technician position is a very important part of the Kuns Northcoast Security Center’s (KNSC) team. This position will install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electronic security and related electronic systems. These systems include security, access control, CCTV, cameras, and some locksmithing setups.
Essential Functions
The Security System Technician is responsible for completing jobs and running wire as professionally as possible. Daily responsibilities will be as follows but not limited to:
- Installs, maintains, monitors, repairs, inspects, and designs electronic security systems and related electronic systems including access control, CCTV, cameras, alarms, and sensors
- Run, label, dress, and terminate cable
- Fish walls, pull cable through ductwork, behind walls, above ceilings and through floors
- Properly drill through masonry, metal, vinyl and wood
- Builds and maintains surveillance systems
- Install cable covers, junction boxes, and conduit
- Provides Training to security system users.
- Provides responsive, high quality service to customers by providing accurate, complete, and up to date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner
- Establish effective working relationships with management, employees, employee representatives and the public
- Perform any other duties assigned

Supervisory Responsibility
None. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office, shop environment, and in the field. This position could be in customer homes, industrial environments or outdoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Tools and equipment will include but not limited to power tools, hammer drills, hand tools, fish tape, computers and volt meters.
Physical Demands
The employee is required to sit, balance, twist, and bend. Must be able to climb ladders and work in high and low locations to reach remote areas. Employees will be exposed to all weather conditions, use of aerial lifts, driving, and standing for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. The ability to talk to customers, vendors, and use a computer is a must.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Required Education and Experience
- Mechanical Aptitude

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
