Senior Application Engineer – Bulk Material Handling & Process Systems
On-site/hybrid (US) | Up to 10% travel
Our client, a well-established leader in industrial process and bulk material handling systems, is looking for a Senior Application Engineer to take ownership of technical and commercial proposal development. You'll be the connective tissue between Sales, Process Engineering, CAD, vendors, and customers — turning complex requirements into practical, well-costed process solutions.
What you'll be doing:
- Reviewing customer requirements and specs alongside Sales and Market Managers
- Leading process concept development and equipment selection
- Preparing technical proposals, cost estimates, and scope documentation
- Supporting process flow diagram development with Sales, Process Managers, and CAD Designers
- Sourcing vendor quotations for specialty equipment and folding pricing into proposals
- Maintaining and expanding internal cost-estimating databases
- Mentoring and guiding the wider Application Engineering team
- Contributing to technical documents and customer-facing presentations
What we're looking for:
- Strong technical grounding in bulk material handling / industrial process systems
- Solid experience with pneumatic conveying in food, chemicals, plastics, or minerals industries
- Confidence translating technical specs into workable system concepts, independently
- Sharp analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- A collaborative, solution-focused mindset — comfortable coordinating across Sales, Engineering, CAD, vendors, and international teams
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (preferred) — or 3–5 years' relevant experience in bulk handling, application engineering, or technical cost estimating
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid U.S. driver's licence and ability to obtain a passport
- Must be authorised to work in the U.S. — no visa sponsorship available
