We are hiring a detail-oriented Materials Manager and Inventory Accountant to perform and coordinate buying activities within our organization. This person will focus on partnering with and developing supplier relationships to improve outcomes for our customers and stakeholders. As a member of the finance team, this role reports to the CFO.

Optimize inventory levels, investment and carrying costs oVet and develop close working relationships with new and existing suppliers

Manage supplier performance, including pricing, lead times, delivery reliability, and product quality oProcure products in coordination with managers across the organization

Develop purchasing budgets, policies and procurement strategies oManage logistics, freight and third-party warehouses

Arrange shipping and obtain competitive freight rates oMonitor obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory

Support operations with accurate data, including product usage and forecasts, risk analyses, etc.

Coordinate physical inventory counts at all locations oInvestigate inventory variances and recommend corrective actions

Manage the stock ledger and sku maintenance oPerform cost accounting related to co-manufactured products

Analyze operational costs, labor, overhead, and material variances

Assist in pricing analyses, monthly close and gross margin reporting

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field o3-5 years of progressive experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, purchasing, or supply chain management

Experience negotiating multi-year, multi-location supply agreements oExperience in manufacturing, distribution, or food and beverage environments preferred

Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory costing methodologies oExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Sage, Acumatica, etc.).

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modeling oStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal oPreferred certifications include Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
