Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments focusing on wound characteristics, physiology, and potential complications.
- Develop personalized wound care plans utilizing advanced techniques and evidence-based practices.
- Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, IV insertions, and other necessary procedures with precision and care.
- Monitor healing progress through regular evaluations, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, physical therapists, and nutritionists—to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure strict compliance with health regulations such as HIPAA and nursing policy standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Document all clinical interventions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical documentation protocols.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the State Board of Nursing or equivalent licensing authority.
- Proven experience in wound care management.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, infectious disease care, and medical emergency response procedures.
- Hands-on experience with IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and first aid/CPR/AED operation.
- Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions critically and communicate effectively with patients’ families and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of health regulations compliance including HIPAA standards and nursing practice acts.
- Additional experience in geriatrics, or post-acute care is highly desirable.
