SUMMARY
Responsibilities are to set-up, repair, troubleshoot, perform routine preventive maintenance and operate multiple machines within the packaging department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must be able to perform on-line quality inspections- Must be able to work under FDA/ISO/QSR guidelines
- Must have mechanical knowledge
- Must be able to follow moderately complex instructions both written and oral
- Must have basic computer skills
- Obtain packaging materials needed to run machines
- Set-up machines following cGMP and THI procedures
- Submit necessary daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklists
- Perform preventive maintenance on packaging equipment
- Reports process or equipment problems to supervisor; performs major or critical troubleshooting
- Ensures work instructions, equipment log books, and other relevant records are current
- Monitors process and equipment and makes necessary adjustments to maintain work instructions specifications
- Monitors product quality
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including environmental and safety rules and regulations
- Provides support, direction and coaching to subordinate employees in the areas of training, problem resolution, planning, and work assignment completion
- Reviews work and provide technical assistance to less experienced Mechanic and/or Machine Operators

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Preferred: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or one year certificate from college or technical school
Desired: Minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing environment as an operator
Considered: No previous experience in a manufacturing facility.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
