Job Description: Inside Sales Support - Food Industry
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inside Sales Assistant with a background in sales, preferably within the food/beverage manufacturing, food distribution, or food service industry. This role supports daily office operations while assisting the sales team with account management duties and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates effectively, and understands the fast-paced nature of the food industry. Knowledge of the beverage industry and co-manufacturing practices is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor sales manager’s inbox and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
- Maintain customer records and update CRM systems.
- Follow up with customers over the phone, email and in-person.
- Assist the sales team with basic account management and administrative support.
- Prepare and update spreadsheets related to co-packing inventory management.
- Help arrange meetings for the sales manager and monitor the team calendar.
- Take preliminary inbound customer calls and gather accurate information for the sales manager to follow up.
- Work cross functionally with R&D and QC team representatives to help answer questions for sales manager
- Support general office operations and other administrative duties as assigned, including assembling swag baskets, preparing the conference room, ordering/picking up food for clients, and warmly greeting existing and potential clients on meeting days.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of customer service or inside sales experience.
- Proficiency in managing the schedules of others.
- Previous sales experience, preferably in the food/beverage manufacturing, food distribution, grocery, or food service industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven experience with customer-facing tasks and clerical duties.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets).
- Experience using CRM or ERP systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to accommodate last-minute changes to schedules and remain flexible.
- Ability to handle direction from others.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams
- Possesses valid CA driver’s license.
Preferred Experience
- Food manufacturing or food distribution environment.
- Knowledge of food safety documentation and product specifications is a plus.
- Knowledge of the beverage industry and co-manufacturing practices is extremely beneficial to this role.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
