Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical and occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans using techniques such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other physiotherapy modalities.
- Prepare treatment areas, set up necessary medical equipment, and ensure all therapy tools are sanitized and ready for use.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, providing encouragement and support while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning details accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to explain procedures, address concerns, and promote adherence to care plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to optimize patient outcomes in settings such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or acute care.
- Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards and stay updated on current physiotherapy practices including the operation of medical equipment used in therapy sessions.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, and medical terminology relevant to therapy practices.
- Hands-on experience with clinical assessment documentation, medical documentation procedures, and managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Familiarity with physical therapy treatment implementation techniques such as manual therapy and trigger point therapy.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics; inpatient or skilled nursing facility experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds while supporting discharge planning and care coordination efforts.
