We are seeking a reliable, courteous, and physically capable individual to assist with furniture pick-ups and deliveries for our nonprofit thrift store. This part-time position plays a key role in supporting our store operations and ensuring excellent customer service for donors and shoppers alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, transport, and unload donated furniture and large items.
- Pick up furniture from donor homes and deliver purchased items to customers.
- Ensure proper handling and care of all items during transport.
- Navigate routes efficiently and maintain timely pick-up/delivery schedules.
- Communicate professionally with customers, volunteers and store staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
- Assist in the thrift store as needed during downtime.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture (up to 75 lbs) with assistance.
- Friendly, professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
- Dependable and punctual with good communication skills.
- Experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Work Environment & Expectations:
- Work is performed both outdoors and indoors, in various weather conditions.
- Requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and climbing stairs.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Represents the mission and values of our organization in the community.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
