Job Description
Pryes Brewing Company is looking for a dependable, hands-on Delivery Manager to lead the daily work of our distribution team. This role, along with the delivery supervisor team, is responsible for getting drivers and vehicles safely out the door, keeping routes efficient and accurate, supporting drivers throughout the day, and making sure every returning route is fully checked in and balanced.
This is a working manager position, not a desk-only role. The Delivery Manager routes orders, coordinates picking and loading, trains and coaches drivers, oversees the delivery fleet, manages the warehouse and finished-goods cooler, and steps into delivery routes when needed.
The right candidate is organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable holding a team accountable to a consistent process. You must be able to make sound decisions independently, communicate clearly across departments, and lead a culture of safety, accuracy, customer service, and professional growth.
Schedule
The regular distribution schedule generally includes Monday administrative, maintenance, and preparation work, plus opening or closing manager coverage Tuesday through Friday while drivers are on the road. Some schedule flexibility is required for staffing needs, special events, holidays, and seasonal volume.
Responsibilities
- planning and optimizing daily delivery routes, schedules, and driver assignments
- managing the daily work of delivery staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance expectations, and accountability
- interviewing, onboarding, and training new delivery drivers
- conducting driver ride-alongs and route audits to reinforce safe driving, product handling, customer service, and standard operating procedures
- reviewing invoices, delivery notes, and routing exceptions
- preparing load sheets, manifests, pick lists, clipboards, and route materials
- coordinating the picking, palletizing, and safe loading of delivery vehicles
- verifying product quantities, special items, vehicle inspections, and route instructions before releasing drivers
- monitoring routes throughout the day and responding to delivery problems
- coordinating hot-shot deliveries and driving routes or covering driver absences when needed
- checking in returning drivers and counting returned product, empty kegs, and breakage
- processing product returns, refused deliveries, invoice adjustments, and inventory discrepancies
- balancing load sheets and verifying checks, cash, credits, invoices, keg deposits, and route documentation
- overseeing the company’s delivery fleet, including vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, repairs, registrations, cleanliness, and overall readiness
- ensuring drivers are properly licensed, trained, and following safe driving and vehicle inspection procedures
- maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse, finished-goods cooler, loading dock, and distribution work area
- managing finished-goods inventory and ensuring beer, returned product, empty kegs, breakage, pallets, and distribution supplies are stored and recorded correctly
- conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, and making or coordinating necessary inventory adjustments
- establishing and enforcing safe warehouse, cooler, loading, lifting, and product-handling procedures
- maintaining accurate customer, delivery, route, vehicle, and inventory information in Encompass
- supporting draft maintenance, festival deliveries, mobile draft equipment, and other distribution projects
- working closely with the sales, operations, production, and finance teams to provide accurate and dependable service
- representing Pryes Brewing Company in a professional and friendly manner

- professionalism as defined by the ability to make deliberate, intentional decisions, and a desire to grow your competence and skills
- a combination of creativity, exceptional execution, and personal character to set the standard of what the MN craft beer experience should be
