Creative Dining Services is looking for a full-time Grill Cook for our location and Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, IN.
The Grill Cook is responsible for ensuring that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation. As a Grill Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality grilled food items that meet our standards for taste, presentation, and safety. Your primary focus will be to efficiently operate the grill station, ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection and delivered promptly to customers. You will collaborate closely with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to food safety regulations. This role demands attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to an exceptional dining experience that encourages repeat business and positive customer feedback.
Pay Range - $16-20/hour (higher rate(s) within pay range are for candidates with great experience)
Core Responsibilities:

Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service

Able to handle busy periods of volume with speed, accuracy and great customer service

Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal

Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production

Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
-
Hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40° if cold, above 135° if hot)

Maintain production records (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.)

Follow established work rules and regulations; ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time

Putting away/Pulling stock as needed
