Old Bridge Township's Full Day Summer Recess Program is seeking high energy, enthusiastic individuals for our camp program. Camp paraprofessionals hold important roles such as 1v1 assignments for children that require special accommodations and/or increased supervision during our care. In this position you will serve as a positive role model and play a key role in shaping and educating our campers by instructing them on numerous activities and experience according to individual or collective needs.
· This is a part-time, seasonal position with Old Bridge Township's Department of Parks & Recreation.
· Paraprofessionals must be fully available June 29 th to August 21st, Monday through Friday.
· Camp Paras will work an 8-hr shift, with rotating weekly schedule.
o One week will be 7:30am- 4pm and the following week will be 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
· Salary Range for Paraprofessionals : $18.00 (min.) depending on experience and qualifications.
Paraprofessional Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Paras may be assigned to supervise a child that requires 1v1 supervision or take on tasks that focus on specific behavioral needs of children who may require more attention and/or specific positive redirection.
· Paras may take on the role of a counselor when needed by assisting with activities, cleaning, and setting up for program procedures.
· Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety and wellness of participants while at assigned sites.
- Communicate with supervisor(s), manager, and parents/guardians to ensure clear communication of any updates, changes, or incidents during program operation as needed.
· Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety and wellness of campers – while on trips and at assigned site.
· Identify and respond to behavior issues / report necessary incidents and occurrences to the program manager.
· Implement and follow rules, policies, and processes in accordance with our handbook and NJDCF – Office of Licensing requirements.
Qualifications
· Required :
· M inimum of 2 years of experience in childcare or classroom setting, with a strong understanding of special education.
· Must be 18 years or older.
· US work authorization.
· Preferred :
