Job Overview
TanMar Companies is seeking an experienced and motivated Driving Trainer & Safety Program Lead to oversee and conduct driver training programs for both DOT and Non-DOT personnel while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. This position is responsible for classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel evaluations, new hire orientation, and ensuring compliance with company policies, FMCSA regulations, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, a strong understanding of transportation safety regulations, and the ability to effectively train and mentor employees. Experience with the Smith System® Driver Improvement Program is highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct driver training and evaluations for DOT and Non-DOT employees.
- Provide classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel coaching.
- Facilitate new hire safety orientation and driver onboarding.
- Lead monthly and annual driver safety meetings.
- Train employees on defensive driving techniques and safe vehicle operations.
- Conduct road tests and document driver performance.
- Assist with accident investigations and provide corrective training as needed.
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, company standards, and customer requirements.
- Assist with developing and updating safety programs, policies, and training materials.
- Conduct field observations and driver ride-alongs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of DOT and Non-DOT vehicle operations.
- Thorough understanding of FMCSA regulations and industry best practices.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
- Ability to pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, and physical examination.

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
