Winery Assistant (Part Time / Per Diem) — Woodbury Vineyards & Honeymoon Trail Winery
We're looking for someone who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty and likes a job where no two days look exactly alike.
Woodbury Vineyards has been making wine in Fredonia for generations, and we recently added Honeymoon Trail Winery to the family. There's always something that needs doing between the two, and we need a reliable person to help us keep up with it, whether that's running the bottling line, hopping on a mower, hauling wine between locations, or lending a hand at one of our events.
This isn't a desk job. If you like being outside, working with your hands, and being part of a small team that actually gets stuff done, keep reading.
What you'll be doing
- Helping run bottling days: feeding bottles, capsules, labels, packing cases, building pallets
- Mowing and general grounds upkeep
- Driving wine and supplies between our Fredonia and Honeymoon Trail locations
- Pitching in during production: moving barrels, cleaning tanks and equipment, general cellar work
- Setting up and breaking down for events, and yes, pouring wine when we need extra hands
- Basic maintenance around the property: patching, fixing, tightening, replacing, whatever comes up
- Whatever else needs an extra set of hands that week. We'll be honest with you about what that looks like
What we're looking for
- Someone 21 or older (you'll be around alcohol production and sometimes serving it)
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfortable with physical work: lifting cases, standing for stretches, being on your feet outside
- Reliable and low-drama. We move fast and we need someone we don't have to double check
- Bonus if you've got any experience with basic maintenance, mechanical stuff, or landscaping equipment
- No wine experience required. We'll teach you what you need to know
Why this job doesn't suck
- Real flexibility. This is on-call, part time work that fits around whatever else is going on in your life
- Variety. You're not doing the same eight hours every day. Mowing one week, bottling the next, working an event the week after
- Room to grow. We're actively expanding both properties, and the right person could see more hours and more responsibility down the road
- You get to be part of something real. Small team, real winery, not a corporate warehouse gig
The details
- 10 to 15 hours a week, flexible and on-call, this is not a fixed 9 to 5
- Based at our Fredonia location. Trips to Honeymoon Trail happen occasionally, mainly tied to wine transport runs, not a regular commute
- Schedule will lean toward weekends and event days, with production and bottling days mixed in during the week
- Pay: $17/hour
