Family-oriented eye care practice in Derry, New Hampshire looking for a full-time Optician. We offer our patients a full range of primary eyecare services and also provide comprehensive optical services. Our staff play a large role in patient care. Minimum of one year optician experience is recommended to join our team. ABO certification recommended but not required. Our office uses the electronic medical record company named Eyefinity EHR and Eyefinity Practice Management. Familiarity with this system would be a plus but not required.
Optician:
People depend on their eyes, so Opticians must be committed to detail and provide excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. The goal is to help patients look their best - and see their best! We feature some amazing frame lines that bring out patient’s style and personality. We are a fun, family oriented, and hard-working optometry practice, who strive to make every patient experience memorable.
Duties:
You will work with other members of the optical team to support the operations of our entire eyecare clinic.
Responsibilities
Ability to interpret eyeglass prescriptions written by the eye doctor, assist patients with selecting frame/lens options, collect optical measurements, place eyeglass orders using vision benefit plans, adjust/repair frames to insure proper fit, stock frame boards, cut lenses to shape, and inspect finished glasses prior to dispensing.
Administrative Tasks
Operations necessary to office flow will be preformed by the staff. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, inputting data into computer files, collecting payment, checking in/checking out patients, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining the cleanliness of the office.
Interpersonal skills
We are a part of a team and all employees must work seamlessly with other employees and doctors to effectively take care of our patients. Strong customer service skills are required of the employee in order for patients to feel comfortable and have a positive impression of the facility.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to be on feet walking patients to and from optical, must be able to interact with patients verbally on a daily basis, must be able to work at seated desk when not actively with patients.
Reliability requirements:
Must be able to work full time schedule, arrive on time, and complete daily opening/closing procedures along with other staff members.
Job Specifications:

Full-time hours on rotating schedule. Work days will be 8:30am to ~6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thursdays are 8:30am to 6:30pm. Must work every other Saturday morning. One full weekday off every week. Day off will be determined by the employer and is subject to change with advanced notice. Paid bi-weekly.
Training will be provided until employees can preform tasks by themselves without assistance. Ongoing training and education always available. Questions are always welcome to improve skills or optometric knowledge.
Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level.
