Cash Application Specialist

Solara Surgical Partners LLC is seeking a meticulous and dependable Cash Application Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team. In this role you will be responsible for the accurate and timely posting of payments and adjustments to patient accounts, ensuring that all cash application activities are completed in accordance with payer contracts, company policy, and applicable regulations. What You Will Do
As a Cash Application Specialist, you will post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts accurately and within established timelines. You will reconcile daily payment batches, identify and resolve posting discrepancies, and ensure that all electronic remittance advices and explanation of benefits documents are processed correctly. You will research and resolve unidentified or misapplied payments, process refunds and overpayments in accordance with payer requirements and company policy, and maintain accurate records of all cash application activity. You will collaborate with the collections and billing teams to ensure account accuracy and support the overall revenue cycle process, and escalate discrepancies or trends to the Revenue Cycle Manager as appropriate.
What You Bring
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with post-secondary education in healthcare administration or a related field preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in cash posting or payment processing in a healthcare setting is required. Working knowledge of insurance explanation of benefits, electronic remittance advices, and payer contract terms is preferred. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing a high volume of transactions are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. A clean driving record, drug screen, and background check are required to meet contractual obligations.
