Calling all detail obsessives who would rather not make small talk before noon.
Hi, I'm Eileen. I started Allpa Botanicals 8 years ago, and we make premium, natural hair and skin care in Ecuador that gets hand-bottled to order right here in Little River. Over 150,000 orders later, I'm still the one packing the boxes, and I'm looking for one person I can trust to take that over while I build out our flagship retail store at the front of the office.
What you'd do
Bottle the products needed for the day's orders, pack each one following our packaging instructions, and drive the finished packages to USPS at the end of the day. You'd also keep the office organized and put away deliveries as they arrive.
Mondays and Tuesdays are the heaviest days for packing, since orders pile up over the weekend and get fulfilled at the start of the week. The rest of the week is mostly bottling, filling the products we need to keep up with the orders coming in.
That's the whole job. It's repetitive in the calming way, not the boring way, and it matters that it's done right. People notice how our packages arrive, and it’s important to us that each one is perfect.
Fair warning: this is a quiet job
You'd be the only employee besides me, and I'll be coming and going while I work on the retail space and run the rest of the brand. So if you want a social workplace, this isn't it. If you want a few hours a day to put on music or a podcast, focus on straightforward work, and leave without anyone having scheduled a meeting with you, this is close to ideal.
One bonus coworker
Our official office mascot is Poro, my fluffy, Pixar-level cute (and hypoallergenic) puppy, and she has the run of the place. She will supervise your bottling, judge your packing tape technique, and occasionally require that you stop working to give her a treat. If you love dogs, this may end up being your favorite part of the job.
The details
- $17.30/hour ($1,500 per month)
- 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday
- Little River, Miami
- A car is required. The post office is close by (2 blocks away), so this is a short drive, every day, without exception.
- You should be comfortable lifting and carrying boxes of packages.
- Our office is bilingual and Spanish is very welcome, but you'll need basic English to print the daily orders and shipping labels, and to troubleshoot issues as they come up.
What I'm looking for
Trustworthy, detail oriented, and self-sufficient. The person who straightens a crooked frame on the wall. Someone who would rather be handed something and left alone than managed.
I want to find someone I can trust with my orders and grow with as the business grows.
