Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving plant equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently on complex maintenance issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment, including overhead cranes and material handling systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with production personnel, maintenance team members, and supervisors.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Must be able to safely work at elevated heights, including ladders, platforms, and overhead crane systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Fabricate, modify, and repair equipment components as needed.
- Work with vendors and equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with industrial maintenance and overhead cranes preferred.
