Overview
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining inventory levels to support daily business operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal team members.
Responsibilities
- Research, source, and purchase products from approved vendors.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers when appropriate.
- Create and manage purchase orders and track order status.
- Track open purchase orders and follow up on delayed shipments.
- Reconcile purchase orders
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any supply issues.
- Work with Accounting to Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor documentation.
- Collaborate with management to identify new product opportunities and trends.
- Ensure inventory levels align with sales demands and seasonal needs.
- Help maintain an organized showroom and customer display.
- Provide customer service support as needed, including assisting customers, retrieving orders from shipping, processing payments, and helping with checkout transactions.
Qualifications
- Previous purchasing, retail buying, inventory management, or related experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze sales and inventory data.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.
- Friendly and professional customer service skills.
