Location: Federal Way, WA
Pay: $62 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a developmental preschool program in Federal Way, Washington. The ideal candidate is experienced in early childhood special education and committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individualized, developmentally appropriate instruction
- Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt lessons and activities to meet each student’s learning, behavioral, communication, and developmental needs
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with families, therapists, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other members of the educational team
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide progress updates
- Support positive behavior, communication, social-emotional growth, and classroom participation
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive preschool classroom
Required Qualifications
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate
- Appropriate certification or endorsement authorizing the candidate to teach preschool special education
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with developmental delays or disabilities
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, progress monitoring, and special education requirements
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills
- Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and onboarding requirements
