We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to pediatric needs, including vital signs assessment, medication administration, IV insertion, and wound care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient conditions through thorough assessments and physiological knowledge, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Operate medical equipment such as AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems with precision.
- Communicate clearly with parents and guardians to explain procedures, treatment plans, and health education in a compassionate manner.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within hospital or outpatient settings, utilizing CPR and first aid skills effectively.
- Maintain strict compliance with health regulations including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), nursing policies, and state Nursing Practice Acts.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while ensuring confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals in inpatient, outpatient, or clinic environments to deliver seamless pediatric care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure from the State Board of Nursing with active registration in pediatrics or related specialties.
- Proven experience working in diverse pediatric settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), emergency rooms, or hospital medicine units.
- Demonstrated expertise in emergency medicine, urgent care, medical-surgical nursing, infectious disease care, Geriatrics (for age-specific considerations), and post-acute care environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and patient data management.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology of children, medication administration protocols including injections and venipuncture techniques.
- Ability to perform patient assessments efficiently while maintaining a caring bedside manner that reassures young patients and their families.
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as lifting patients or equipment; ability to operate AEDs; proficiency in vital signs measurement; CPR certification; basic life support (BLS) training required.
- Familiarity with health regulations compliance including HIPAA standards for maintaining patient confidentiality across all interactions.
- Experience working in school clinics or outpatient settings is a plus; familiarity with school experience is desirable but not mandatory.
