ZMC Logistics LLC is a rapidly expanding transportation and logistics company dedicated to providing exceptional service and timely delivery solutions. ZMC is the in-house carrier for the M. Simon Zook Co. Family of Businesses and a for-hire motor carrier moving freight throughout the Northeast region and beyond. ZMC Logistics operates a fleet of late model tractors and over 100 trailers consisting of food and feed-grade liquid tankers, pneumatic dry-bulk food tankers, and dry vans.
Responsibilities:

Driver Recruiting and Retention: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top-performing drivers, and supervisors as needed ensuring a stable and efficient workforce.

DOT Compliance: Ensure all drivers and supervisors comply with Department of Transportation, and other agencies regulations and company policies, maintaining the highest standards of safety and legal adherence.

Optimize outbound and backhaul opportunities to maximize revenue and improve fleet efficiency by offering guidance and directives to management team.

Transportation Expense Reduction: Assist and support the Transportation President to identify and implement cost-saving measures within transportation operations, enhancing overall profitability.

Oversee, support, coordinate the transportation departments daily activities, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching vehicles and drivers

Meet transportation performance metrics as assigned to you by the Transportation President.

Assist with developing and maintaining staff performance metrics and reports, use data to identify areas for improvement.

Learn all aspects of dispatch and fill in during vacations, and personal days.

Oversee and support the Fleet Service Manager to ensure proper and timely repair of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition and minimizing downtime.

Maintain/own fuel tax data entry to drive timely IFTA filing by third-party provider.

Ensure all accidents and incidents are addressed to include accurate reporting, insurance processes, remedial training, disciplinary action, and root cause analysis.

Requirements
-
A completed bachelors or masters degree in a related field is highly preferred.
-
5+ years direct management experience in fleet transportation or logistics field to include both salaried and hourly workforce.

Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations for transportation.

Proficiency in transportation software (TMS)
-
Flexibility to work extended or adjusted hours or weekends as needed.

Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
-
Above average organizational, time management, and recordkeeping.
-
Escalated analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines. An expert at multitasking.

Extremely flexible and adaptable to manage unexpected changes or challenges. Must maintain involvement.

The manager must remain aware of everything taking place under his/her watch and able to report accurately to the Transportation President.
