American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a Level II Trauma Center in Asheville, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active medical telemetry skills.

Position is located on the A4W Trauma Telemetry unit (Med/Surg Tele), a 36-bed floor within a large 815-bed regional referral hospital and Level II Trauma Center

Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

13-week contract
-
Current day shift RN ratio is 1:5/6; night shift RN ratio is 1:6/7
-
Unit is staffed with charge RNs, CNAs, a HUC, and sitters
-
Unit prepares patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and OR procedures
-
EMR: Cerner (experience required)
-
Equipment includes medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), VC150s in every patient room, and workstations on wheels with Tap and Go access

Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift)

Floating may be required to sister Med/Surg units: 3W, 5W, and K8

Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)

Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for Telemetry RNs
-
Demonstrated medical telemetry skills required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required if currently residing in Florida or Missouri)

CMSRN certification is encouraged but not required

BSN, charge nurse experience, and leadership experience are preferred qualifications

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position

Required scrub colors: navy blue top and bottom, white top with navy blue bottom, or all white
