Position Overview:
We’re seeking a hands-on, full-time Driver & Yard Associate to join our hard-working team. This is a physically active role combining delivery driving, material handling, equipment operation, and yard support.
Note: This is not a dedicated driving position—approximately 50% of the job involves truck deliveries. The other half of the time will be spent working in the yard, assisting customers, operating equipment, and helping keep our operation running smoothly.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and being part of a small, close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load/unload building materials
- Pull and prepare orders for delivery or pickup
- Deliver materials across Chicago using a 16' flatbed truck
- Operate light equipment, including a Bobcat skid steer, ride-on lawnmower, and string trimmer
- Perform basic groundskeeping and yard upkeep using various hand tools
- Assist walk-in customers with loading materials and product inquiries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work outdoors in all types of Chicago weather
- Follow safety procedures and contribute to a team-oriented environment
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Valid driver's license required (CDL NOT required)
- Comfortable operating a flatbed delivery truck
- Physically able to lift and move 100 lbs repeatedly
- Experience with forklifts, skid steers, or landscaping equipment is a plus
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to pass a drug test
- Able to work Monday–Saturday with occasional overtime
- English required; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Saturday (Saturdays required)
- 8 to 10-hour daytime shifts
- No evening or night shifts
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience, merit, and reliability)
