Part-Time High School Drama Teacher
Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic School seeks a part-time experienced high school Drama teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Theater, Drama Education, or a related field required;
- Proven experience in directing youth theater or teaching at the secondary level
- Valid State Teaching Certification in Drama/Fine Arts (or be willing to obtain teaching certification)
- Must undergo a background check and complete the Ethics and Integrity Program of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas

Key Responsibilities:
- Communication: Demonstrate strong communication skills - be the bridge between students, parents, and school administration
- Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans covering acting techniques, theater history, script analysis, and improvisation.
- Production Management: Direct and produce at least two major performances per year (e.g., One Act Play and a spring musical).
- Technical Direction: Oversee basic set design, lighting, sound, and costuming, coordinating with student crews and parent volunteers.
- Student Mentorship: Foster a safe, inclusive "brave space" where students feel comfortable taking creative risks.
- Administrative Duties: Manage the drama budget, maintain the theater space/props storage, and coordinate performance licensing.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
