Duties
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including slicing, dicing, and portioning to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist with meal preparation and assembly for various service periods, adhering strictly to menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Washing dishes properly
- Support the culinary team in food handling procedures to uphold safety and hygiene regulations
- Follow recipe instructions meticulously to ensure meal consistency and presentation standards are met
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep tasks and ensure timely service
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Background in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food preparation and safety protocols
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering practices, and serving techniques enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and proper use of kitchen equipment
- Understanding of food safety management principles and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Experience working as part of a team in the food industry, demonstrating strong communication skills with kitchen staff
- Culinary experience that includes meal prep, recipe adherence, and food handling practices is preferred
