Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator Trainee to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical and dental histories and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Support insurance verification processes by reviewing coverage details, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers, utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Learn to review and process documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Aid in scheduling patient appointments using medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems while maintaining excellent phone etiquette
- Support medical billing activities by understanding CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical collection procedures
- Help prepare care plans and treatment estimates for patients based on provider recommendations
- Maintain organized medical records and assist with filing, data entry, and administrative support tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in healthcare or related fields is a plus
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for all necessary technical skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance processes, and medical billing practices is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
