Restaurant Manager (Hourly) $24–30/hr
We're a busy, beachfront restaurant and bar group in Pacific Beach looking for an hourly Restaurant Manager who likes a full room and leads from the floor. This is a hands-on leadership role you're running the shift with your team, not watching from an office.
Hours: 25–40 per week to start.
Pay: $24–30/hour, depending on experience.
What you'll own:
- Running shifts open to close pace, flow, and service standards
- Leading and coaching the front of house crew: servers, bartenders, hosts, and bussers
- Daily floor leadership: seating flow, wait times, and guest recovery
- The business side: scheduling support, labor awareness, ordering/par checks, and training new hires
- Cash handling, POS, and end-of-shift close-out
- Keeping the venue clean, safe, and on standard
What you bring:
- 2+ years in a restaurant or bar, with at least 1 in a lead or management role
- Steady and level-headed when it's busy -you lead by example, not volume
- Strong people skills, whether it's a new server or a packed Saturday
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 21+ (alcohol service) with a Food Handler card; RBS certification a plus
- Able to stay on your feet through a shift and lift up to ~50 lbs

Duties
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and service delivery to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance team performance and customer service standards.
- Manage shift schedules, assign duties, and oversee team management to maintain smooth workflow during busy hours.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; perform cash handling duties with integrity.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of food handling and hygiene practices.
- Support hiring processes by interviewing candidates and assisting with onboarding new team members.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising or management experience within the food industry or quick service & fast food restaurant environments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
- Experience with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS; adept at cash handling and transaction processing.
- Familiarity with inventory control, food safety standards, and food production processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on training & development, team motivation, and conflict resolution.
- Background in hospitality management or restaurant management preferred; casual dining or fine dining experience highly valued.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
