About Cooper AI
Cooper is an AI coworker for the insurance industry. Getting a business insured involves mountains of paperwork: filling out repetitive forms, re-typing the same information into one insurance company's website after another, and comparing offers by hand. Cooper does that busywork automatically, right inside the tools people already use, so brokers and their teams can focus on advising clients instead of pushing paper. We're a small team with deep insurance roots, teaching AI to do real, trusted work in a massive, overlooked industry.
Backed by Lightspeed, General Catalyst, and Valor, Cooper AI is building from the ground up to modernize a $1T+ global insurance industry.
About the Role
We're looking for a Business Operations Manager to help us scale intelligently as Cooper grows. This is a high-impact generalist role sitting directly alongside our leadership team — you'll work across the organization to identify strategic opportunities, bring structure to ambiguity, and drive execution on the initiatives that matter most.
No two weeks will look the same. You might be building a framework to evaluate a new market opportunity one week and redesigning a customer-facing process the next. You're someone who identifies the problem, defines the approach, and gets moving.
What You’ll Do
Own high-priority, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end — from scoping and analysis through execution and measurement
Partner with executive leaders to define and prioritize the most critical strategic questions facing the business
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses — market sizing, competitive landscape, unit economics — and turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations
Identify operational bottlenecks and design process improvements that drive efficiency and margin across the business
Develop and maintain critical operating metrics and reporting cadences, communicating insights to senior stakeholders in a clear, compelling way
Serve as a connective layer across Product, GTM, Revenue, and Customer teams — aligning stakeholders, facilitating decisions, and removing blockers
Support monthly and quarterly planning cycles, including OKR tracking and resource prioritization
What You’ll Bring
2–4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or business operations at a high-growth technology company
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills — comfortable with financial modeling, data analysis, and building narratives from numbers
Proven ability to drive complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish
Excellent written and verbal communication
Thrives in ambiguity and moves with urgency — you don't need a perfect brief to get started
Collaborative and diplomatic — you build trust quickly and lead through influence
Owner mentality — you take accountability for outcomes, not just outputs
Genuine curiosity about AI and how it reshapes the way industries operate
Nice to have – MBA
Compensation Range: $165K - $195K
