Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications
- Ensure prescriptions are filled safely and in compliance with Florida pharmacy laws and regulations
- Counsel patients regarding medications, proper use, side effects, interactions, and precautions
- Perform drug utilization reviews and identify potential medication-related concerns
- Communicate with physicians and healthcare providers regarding prescriptions and patient care
- Provide vaccinations and other pharmacist-authorized clinical services, when applicable
- Maintain proper documentation and pharmacy records
- Monitor controlled substances and maintain regulatory compliance
- Assist with inventory management, medication ordering, and expiration monitoring
- Work closely with pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Maintain an efficient and professional pharmacy workflow
- Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with patients
- Participate in the development of new pharmacy services and patient-care initiatives
- Support management in improving pharmacy operations and the overall patient experience
Required:
- Active and unrestricted Florida Pharmacist License
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy program
- Strong knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and pharmacy regulations
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
- Ability to work effectively with pharmacy technicians, providers, patients, and management
- Dependable, professional, and organized
Preferred:
- Community or independent pharmacy experience
- Immunization certification
- Experience with pharmacy management or dispensing software
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Knowledge of pharmacy compliance and inventory management
- Interest in wellness, preventive health, and expanded pharmacy services
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
