This is an On-Demand position and the shifts for this position will vary. New Pathways will contact the on-demand staff with available shifts; you can choose to accept or decline shifts. If you go more than 6 months without working, New Pathways will access the employment agreement.
Organizational Summary:
New Pathways provides shelter and resources for families with children experiencing homelessness and develops case plans that promote families moving towards self-sufficiency. New Pathways partners with area churches and housing management agencies so families have a safe place to live while working with staff.
Job Summary:
The Client Services Advocate contributes to our empowering environment by providing support, crisis intervention, advocacy and applying his/her problem-solving skills to challenges being faced by the families we serve.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet prospective clients, volunteers, and community members in a positive and friendly manner.
· Screen potential clients for eligibility, complete enrollment paperwork and conduct program orientation for new participants
· Support and facilitate client participation in all aspects of program and housing requirements.
· Completely timely notifications and correspondence with clients and volunteers.
· Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all residents, both with other residents and the external community.
· Document interactions with participants, as required, and place in their file
· Offer input for client success to Program Manager and Lead Advocate
· Explain program policies and guidelines to clients, and ensure they are being followed. Communicate any non-compliant behavior to Case Manager and document in their file.
· Perform some routine house maintenance.
· Clean staff bathroom and all staff offices, including garbage removal. Disinfect “hot spot” and staff microwave
· Keep walkways safe and clear that have 2” or under of snow
· Turn over client suites and prepare for new family
· Other duties as assigned.
DAY (1st) SHIFT RESPONSIBILITES:
· Forward past guest mail weekly
· Van maintenance, monthly
· Check for client birthdays and prepare cards weekly
· Clean hallways, bathrooms, staff offices and lobby weekly
· Plan and host a family activity each shift
· Outside maintenance, including weeding landscaping, keeping the property clean and organizes and cutting grass, weekly or as needed
AFTERNOON (2ND) SHIFT RESPONSIBILITES:
· Fire/CO check and drill, monthly
· Supervise client deep cleaning of their suites and shared spaces weekly
· Deep clean commercial kitchen and community room weekly
· Oversee evening meals and provide support to volunteers daily
· Oversee evening programming if scheduled
OVERNIGHT (3rd) SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Washer/Dryer maintenance, weekly
· Mid-shift grounds check to ensure client and building safety each shift
· Computer maintenance on clients and advocate computer monthly
· Be available to clients overnight for emergencies or needed assistance
· Keep the market, donation center, and staff storage room organized and cleaned, weekly
ON-DEMAND SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Take on the responsibility of the shift you are covering for
Qualifications:
· Associate Degree preferred
· Experience assisting others
· Experience administering rules and guidelines
· Ability to maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
· Dependable and reliable.
· Strong communication skills.
· Ability to work independently.
· Good organizational skills.
· Good oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
· Requires use of interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution techniques.
· Requires a valid driver's license.
Physical Demands of Position:
Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs multiple times per day and lift/carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
