Position Summary:
The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) plays a key role in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) organization by bridging the gap between business operations, clinical teams, and technology solutions. The TBA is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements for system enhancements, integrations, data solutions, and process improvements. This role collaborates closely with stakeholders, developers, data engineers, IT teams, and vendors to ensure technology solutions align with organizational objectives, improve operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and build relationships with stakeholders throughout the company

Collaborate and support stakeholders in learning processes, understanding problems, identifying inconsistencies and assisting with improvements

Work with both CQI and PI teams to conduct interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs to gather information and requirements

Translate business needs into detailed business, functional, technical, and data requirements including maintaining Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), user stories and acceptance criteria

Collaborate with application developers, IT teams, data engineers, and vendors to design and implement technical solutions

Participate in solution designs and provide recommendations to improve system performance and usability including analyzing system functionality and identifying configuration, enhancement, automation, and integration opportunities

Assist in planning, executing and monitoring critical activities and deliverables at various levels

Document and track project opportunities, risks, issues & decisions

Assist in prioritization of requirements, backlog refinement, and sprint planning activities. Validate solutions during testing phases and support user acceptance testing

Ensure deliverables, including technical solutions, meet business requirements and quality standards
- Collect, validate, and interpret data to provide insights and support decision-making

Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting, dashboard, and KPIs
- Perform data analysis using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and other analytical tools

Support development and optimization of reports, dashboards, data and visualizations

Identify data quality issues, gaps, and improvement opportunities

Partner with data teams to support data governance and reporting initiatives
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding client information

- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs, data flows, and database technical concepts

- Experience creating process maps, workflows, requirements documentation, and technical specifications
- Ability to work and maintain multiple projects in conjunction with the Project Manager
- Ability to work with various systems while maintaining professionalism, maturity, objectivity and a cooperative attitude
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; equivalent experience considered
- 3+ years of Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst experience.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Experience supporting software implementations, application enhancements, or digital transformation initiatives
- Experience working with databases and SQL querying
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI
- Proficiency with productivity and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting projects in a business, healthcare, technology, or operations environment
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Lean, PMI frameworks)
- Knowledge of workflow tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro)
- Experience leveraging technology solutions to improve operational performance, quality outcomes, process efficiency, and organizational KPIs
- Willingness to obtain Project Management or Business Analyst certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, Lean Six Sigma, or PMI-PBA)
- Willingness to travel to various locations throughout the organization on a regular basis
