Position: ReStore Donation Attendant
Every donation helps build homes.
Habitat for Humanity Capital Region ReStore is hiring a ReStore Donation Attendant. This role is the first point of contact for many of our donors and plays an important part in supporting our mission. You'll welcome donors, evaluate incoming donations, keep the donation area organized, and help prepare merchandise for the sales floor.
Proceeds from the ReStore help fund Habitat's work building and repairing homes in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties.
What you’ll do
- Welcome donors and assist with donation drop-offs
- Evaluate and process donated items for resale
- Sort, clean, and price merchandise for the sales floor
- Keep the donation and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe
- Provide excellent customer service to donors and shoppers
- Support volunteers and help ensure smooth daily operations
- Assist with general ReStore operations as needed
What we’re looking for
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Customer-service mindset and clear communication
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting and moving items safely
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to operate a cash register and accurately handle transactions
Physical requirements (important)
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Majority of the day is spent standing, walking, bending, and moving merchandise
- May require climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward positions

Habitat for Humanity Capital Region is a nonprofit organization providing affordable homeownership opportunities, home repairs, and accessibility ramps in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. The Habitat ReStore accepts donations of new and gently used items and sells them to the public to help fund Habitat’s mission.
