Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our vibrant retail team. In this role, you will lead daily store operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and support sales growth through effective team management and strategic merchandising. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) transactions
- Lead, motivate, and supervise retail staff to achieve sales targets while fostering a positive team environment
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, purchasing, and merchandising to maximize product availability and presentation
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Coordinate employee orientation, training & development programs, and conduct interviews for new hires to build a strong team
- Implement pricing strategies, sales promotions, and marketing initiatives to drive store traffic and revenue growth
- Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and assist with budgeting to maintain financial health of the store
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong skills in negotiation, sales management, and retail math to optimize store performance
- Demonstrated ability in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff, and team leadership
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and store merchandising practices
- Excellent communication skills coupled with organizational skills for effective time management and operational oversight
- Previous experience with shift management, retail sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and administrative tasks such as bookkeeping or payroll processing
