Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our hotel properties through hands-on repairs, landscaping, and groundskeeping. Your proactive approach will ensure our facilities remain inviting and well-maintained for guests and staff alike.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of outdoor areas, including landscaping, lawn care, mowing, tree trimming, and gardening to enhance curb appeal.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment to keep outdoor spaces safe and attractive year-round
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and managing irrigation components to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for repairs involving hardscape features, fencing, or other outdoor structures.
- Identify plants accurately through plant identification skills and apply appropriate horticultural practices; manage pesticide application following safety protocols.
- Assist with snow removal during winter months by operating shovels to ensure safe walkways and driveways.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently while performing outdoor work to prevent accidents or injuries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outdoor work environments with knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various equipment including lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems.
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices such as mowing, pruning, planting, and hardscape upkeep.
- Ability to identify different plant species and manage horticultural tasks effectively.
- Experience in pesticide management adhering to safety standards; familiarity with tree care and trimming techniques.
- Construction experience or familiarity with grounds improvement projects is a plus.
