We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Landfill Environmental Scientist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, monitoring landfill operations, and implementing environmental protection measures. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental science, waste management, or a related field and possess strong problem-solving skills. This position reports to the Environmental Compliance Manager.

Conduct routine site inspections and audits to identify potential environmental concerns.

Monitor landfill gas collection systems to ensure regulatory compliance.

Perform air and water sampling to assess environmental impact and compliance.

Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment.

Conduct odor monitoring to assess and mitigate potential nuisances.

Document and report environmental data to senior environmental staff

Assist in the implementation of waste management best practices to minimize environmental impact.

Assist with stormwater management and erosion control measures.

Experience in landfill operations, waste management, or environmental compliance is preferred but not required.

Strong problemsolving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Ability to walk long distances.
