LHH is partnering with an innovative life sciences organization in San Diego to identify an Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary-to-hire opportunity. This hybrid position offers the chance to join a growing accounting team supporting critical financial operations within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounts payable expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance. This role will contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the business while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
What You'll Do-
Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.

Review supporting documentation and purchase orders to ensure transactions are complete and accurately approved.

Process vendor payments through ACH, wire transfers, and other electronic payment methods.

Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.

Maintain accurate vendor records, including banking and tax documentation.

Assist with credit card and employee expense reporting administration.

Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.

Prepare documentation and respond to inquiries related to internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve workflows and drive process efficiencies.

Perform additional accounting support duties as needed.
Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of accounts payable experience.

Experience working in a regulated industry such as life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical environments is highly preferred.

ERP system experience required; NetSuite experience is a plus.

Experience with procurement and expense management platforms is beneficial.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large volumes of financial data.

Working knowledge of accounting principles and internal control practices.

Ability to prioritize deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
